Plyometric Exercises To Do – Rugby Fitness Training

The following exercises are simple to do and could be done before rugby training if warmed up, during a weights session or after practice However you do them if you consistently add jumps into your plan then you will begin to make improvements in your speed. If you are really focused on improving your speed check out my Rugby Speed Training Plan here>>>

1 leg hops

Simple one leg hopping is powerful for priming the sprinting musculature. When doing this ensure you land mid foot (not on the toes like sprinting) for safety reasons and to ensure you recruit the buttock muscles. Perform for 10-30m+

 Forward jumps – 2 Legs

High powerful jumps are again effective for developing sprinting speed. Perform for 10-20m
